Community Relations Commission
The Office of Equity and Engagement is the liaison for the Community Relations Commission (CRC), we facilitate CRC meetings, elect CRC members, and ensure compliance with City policies.
Our relations with the community are crucial to our work. The Community Relations Commission supports with:
- Giving advice and assistance to elected officials in adopting measures to keep order and harmony among citizens
- Discouraging and preventing discriminatory practices
- Providing education on community resources
- Releasing and issuing reports and public service announcements
The Grand Rapids Neighborhood Summit
What is Summit?
The Grand Rapids Neighborhood Summit is a free transformational learning experience centered around core values of resident voice and racial equity. Summit brings Grand Rapids residents and stakeholders together to learn, strategize, and connect to strengthen neighborhoods and belonging in community, with the overall goal to make Grand Rapids a more equitable place for all to live, work, and play.
Neighborhood Match Fund
Are you a Grand Rapids resident planning a project to help reestablish community and relationships?
You may be eligible for funding through the Neighborhood Match Fund (NMF). Funding support will be awarded for Grand Rapids resident-led projects that are community focused, inclusive, and promote a deeper sense of belonging among neighbors.
