We offer convenient parking options throughout downtown Grand Rapids, including ramps, lots, accessible spaces, and electric vehicle charging stations. Our facilities operate 24/7 and even offer free courtesy services like jump starts, lockout help, and flat-tire assistance. Parking rates vary by location and events, with multiple payment methods accepted for everyday and event parking.

Our parking locations and customer assistance center are open 24/7.

We're here with lots of help! When parking in the City of Grand Rapids ramps and lots, we'll help you with any of these issues for FREE. How helpful is that?

  • Dead battery? We can give you a jump if your battery is drained
  • Locked out? We can get you back in your vehicle if you lock your keys in there
  • Flat tire? We can give you a little boost of air
  • Lost your car? We can help you find your vehicle in our ramps and lots
  • Dinged? We can fill out an accident report, so you can file an insurance claim
  • Prices can vary depending on the day, the location, and what events may be in town.

Step 1. Choose a parking permit type and location 

We offer monthly parking permits for many customer needs. Review your options:

Standard Permit

  • Monday - Friday
  • 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • $48 - $180 per month
  • Review the Parking Rate Chart for exact prices based on location. 
  • The following are reserved for permit holders from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:
    • Sixth Street Park lot
    • Napa lot
    • Ionia Mason lot
    • State Street
    • Ionia Ave Parking 
  • Review the Standard Monthly Parking Map and Availability.

Evening Permit

Neighborhood Commuter Lot Permit

Downtown Residential Permit

  • Pearl Ionia Parking Ramp ONLY.
  • Any day of the week
  • 24 hours per day
  • $200 per month
  • Must prove residency within the downtown area.
  • Check this downtown resident map to see if your address qualifies.

Step 3.We'll review your request for an available parking permit

Expect to hear from us within 1-2 business days. We'll help you to complete the parking agreement and retrieve your permit.

Step 4. We'll add you to the waiting list

If the permit you requested is unavailable, we'll contact you as soon as we have an opening.

Our system for tracking the waiting list doesn't support reporting or auto updates. So you won't hear from us for some time. Depending on when a permit becomes available, we'll contact you in four (4) to sixteen (16) months.

Visitors can pay for parking with cash, debit or credit cards (MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and American Express). Some locations accept Apple Pay, Android Pay and Google Pay. For special events, you'll pay upon entry at most parking locations. When visiting our parking areas on a regular day, most ramps and lots are paid upon exit. 

We offer accessible parking in all of our ramps and lots. These spaces are clearly marked. In most ramps, you can find accessible parking spaces on the first level or near elevators/stairways. For the Government Center Ramp, use the south entrance on Monroe Ave (furthest from Michigan St).

Free moped parking is available inside our Pearl Ionia ramp and at our Ottawa Fulton Surface Lot. Don't lock your moped to trees, lamp posts, or benches. This can block access to people walking or trying to get around.

If you have the need for multiple employees to share a single parking space, the Job Share Parking Program is perfect for you!

The program allows you to have multiple access cards for a single parking space. This means if you have employees that work on different days of the week or during different shifts, they can use a single parking space and each have their own access card.

There is an additional cost of $10/month for each job share card in addition to a one-time $10 card deposit fee.

We offer electric vehicle charging stations in three of our parking ramps. You'll pay the same as other users to park and pay the meter at the charging station to pay for the charging cost.
